Swift is the governance body representing 11500 banks. The standards they create are what banks must abide by globally. This new standard, ISO20022, has been years in the making, and the deadline to switch over is this weekend.
ISO20022 includes more metadata, allowing for Swift to handle new assets like digital assets.
Importantly, chainlink CRE has also been developed hand in hand with Swfit IS20022, and Chainlink will handle the bank to blockchain messages, while Swift will handle the bank to bank messages.
